what is taking place behind close doors.. I do not know who the Lions tried to sign and were unable to come to terms with.. or who they were outbid for.. but looking from the outside in the Lions have only made one move (outside of keeping players on the roster.. which they have done a lot of.. and honestly I am quite pleased with.. outside of losing Reeves-Maybin to the Texans they returned every player I wanted them to..) Maybe they are done.. maybe they are still working on some things..
Looking at who is left on the market still the Lions could still make some of the moves I have wanted them to make.. While he was not my number one choice JuJu made my final list.. and he is still available.. I would be happy with a small prove it deal..
Gronk is still available.. however with Brady un-retiring.. (how is that even a thing.. you quit you quit man.. buh-bye) Gronk will likely be back with him and the Bucs.. but.. man.. would it be great if Gronk came on a cheap.. mutual respect type deal because Campbell is a tight end and I could see them really hitting it off.. it would be GREAT to have Gronk to mentor Hock.. and be there in the event Hock gets hurt.. (which I am sad to say seems to be a regular occurrence.. two years in the league and the kid has spent excessive time injured.. if I am not mistaken both seasons ended with him on the I.R. (to be honest I could not finish Patricia's last season.. it was too nauseating so I do not know how Hock's rookie campaign concluded)).
I would not be mad at seeing Flowers come back on a prove it deal.. I never had an issue with him as a player.. just paying him too much money to not even be on the field..
Vander Esch and White have both been on all 3 drafts of my projected roster and all both are still sitting there.. I would love to see them both be signed to long or semi long term deals.. I think being in a room with Campbell would turn them both into beasts long term..
Not sure.. if with our current cap it would even be possible to swing all of those guys.. but.. from what I have seen in just over a season with Big Brad at the helm.. if anyone could finagle it it would be him.. in my oh so humble opinion..
Time will tell what (if any) more moves are made this off season.. but.. even if no more are made I won't be too disappointed.. a lot of good moves were made in simply keeping what we have and continuing to grow the foundation planted last season.. for the first time in a long time.. I am really hopeful about this upcoming season.. I only expect maybe 5-7 wins.. but.. the culture is changed.. and for now.. that is more important than wins..
